This week, we will be exploring a couple of the ways music can be utilized to help us reconnect with the eternal being that lies within us all. First we will interview vocalist Gerry Dignan, who's been referred to as a mix of John Denver, Andrea Bocelli, Ray Charles and St. Frances of Assisi. http://gerrydignan.com/
Later in the show Amy Barnes joins us to discuss Kirtan, an ancient participatory music experience. Without the work of mentally quieting the mind, kirtan can carry us effortlessly to a place of quiet, to stillness. One of the oldest sacred music traditions of the world, the kirtan call-and-response chanting genre comes to us from India. Using ancient Sanskrit mantras, the kirtan calls upon sacred energies which serve to quiet the mind, remove obstacles, and bring us back to the center of our being.
As usual Bongo Boy and Tony will provide music.
