September 8, 2007

September, designated as International Peace Month, is filled with peace-related events. During Saturday's second hour we'll check in with Marti Snell in Watertown, TN and Olivia Barham in Los Angeles, CA. Marti will discuss details regarding the upcoming "Walk for Peace" one of many events occurring nationally sponsored by the National Peace Alliance. Go to www.thepeacealliance.org to learn more about what's unfolding nationally in regards to a Dept. of Peace and to find an event in your area.

Then we'll talk with Olivia Barham the writer and producer of the upcoming film, "The Science of Peace." Hosted by LeVar Burton, this film features pioneering physicists, biologists and philosophers established in the emerging field of Peace Sciences. The film shows how each of us by bringing peace into our individual lives become instruments for peace globally. Check out the www.scienceofpeace.com to see two brief trailers about the movie and more information.

Last but not least become part of a global meditation movement for peace by taking 11 minutes on the 11th of each month at 11am (Eastern time) and focusing on peace by prayer, meditation, silence, whatever works for you. A Global Voice of Peace began this ritual after 9/11. Join this group this Tuesday at 11 EDT for 11 minutes of focused energy embracing diversity and laying down of arms.
