Sunday is Mother's Day so join us as we honor Mother Earth. We'll ponder what prevents our consideration of her as well as come up with ways for reconnecting.

Many of you will recall that Rachel Carson's "Silent Spring" was integral in halting the use of DDT. At
8:00 Central, we'll talk with Nashville's equivalent to Rachel Carson, Rachel Sumner, who has worked tirelessly to alter Nashville's mosquito control laws. Rachel has organized citizens and local non-profits in an effort to bring science, ethics and reponsible mosquito control to Nashville's Health Department Mosquito Control program. Rachel will discuss No-Spray Nashville's heroic journey over the past five years as well as recent policy changes that allow drivers to leave the sprayer on in the presence of pedestrians and takes away our right to opt out of having our property sprayed. Isn't it possible to protect ourselves while also honoring the plant and insect life around us that are affected by these toxins also? Educate yourself at www.nospraynashville.org

At 9:00 Central, we'll find out what edible food gardens and stormwater management have in common as we talk with New York City resident Ariane Burgess. Ariane integrates both of the above in her labryinth landscapes in the city as she inspires city dwellers to reconnect with nature. We'll talk with Ariane about her journey into nature as well as her new passion Regenerative Culture providing training in Urban Sustainability. In addtion, we'll talk about her work at Findhorn in Scotland and the fascinating history behind this once barren area now turned EcoVillage drawing folks worldwide thanks to one woman in the mid-1900's heeding her 'still small voice.' For more about Ariane as well as Findhorn check out www.caminodepaz.org and www.findhorn.org
