"Wake Up & LIve" with Mike, Dawn, Tony and Steve this Saturday at 8 central time as we talk with Laura Laughter, with the Nashville branch of Heifer International.Since 1944, Heifer International has worked in the areas of livestock and agriculture to develop programs that alleviate hunger and poverty. In the past 60 years, they've helped 7 million families worldwide. For example, $20 will buy a flock of chicks for a family in Cameron or the Caribbean. One hen in turn can lay up to 200 eggs a year, plenty to eat, share or sell. A goat for $120 provides milk and cheese along with natural fertilizer for gardening. Recepient famlies in turn agree to give new off spring to those in their community in need so the gift literally keeps on giving. What a great idea especially at this of year when we gift those about whom we care ! So tune in as we learn more about H.I., and Steve and Tony serenade us with a tune or two. That's Wake Up & Live, on line at radiofreenashville.org Sat. 9 Eastern, 8 Central, 7 Mountain and 6 Pacific. To listen to the website and click listen on-line or listen now by phone.
